Mary Ellen Trozzo is the founder and creative director of M.E. Trozzo, Inc., a jewelry design studio in College Park, Maryland. For more than 40 years, she has specialized in creating custom fine jewelry and restoring treasured heirlooms, working in gold, platinum, palladium, and silver.
Combining traditional goldsmithing techniques with contemporary design, Mary Ellen creates timeless pieces that are both elegant and deeply personal. Her work is defined by clean, modern lines, meticulous craftsmanship, and an enduring respect for the artistry of fine jewelry. Whether designing a one-of-a-kind engagement ring, transforming inherited pieces into new creations, or restoring family treasures, she approaches every project with precision, creativity, and care.
Mary Ellen earned a bachelor's degree in art from the University of Maryland before pursuing advanced studies in Europe. She received a certificate in jewelry design from the Fachhochschule für Gestaltung in Schwäbisch Gmünd, Germany, one of Europe's renowned schools of design. She later produced jewelry for Werkstatt Raymann-Nowak in Spraitbach, Germany, further refining her technical expertise and artistic vision.
Today, Mary Ellen continues to design and handcraft custom jewelry while sharing her knowledge through private classes. Every piece she creates reflects a lifelong commitment to exceptional craftsmanship, thoughtful design, and the belief that fine jewelry should be made to last for generations.
